Title:

Mapping User Interface Design to Culture Dimensions

Author:

Marcus, A.

Abstract:

Culture anthropologists have identified fundamental dimensions of world cultures. User-interface designers have identified basic components of user interfaces. An initial mapping of these dimensions to components seeks to help user-interface designers cope with global product and service development. Culture dimensions are related to other cognitive and emotional constructs. Ultimately, tools might emerge to facilitate tuning designs per culture.
