Title:

Process and Tools for an i18n Conversion Assessment

Author:

Creech, E.

Abstract:

As the world becomes ‘smaller’ and the U.S. economy moves from manufacturing towards an information and services base, the opportunities for marketing software solutions worldwide are enormous. There are thousands of existing systems with potential for internationalization. Decision makers need to know what it will take in terms of time and money to get their product ready for global users. This requires an assessment. This case study focuses on the process and tools used in performing an assessment. While this experience is from the perspective of an outside consultancy, the same processes and tools can be applied when the assessment is done by an internal organization.
