Hariandja, J. & B. DaamsAbstract:
This paper presents the main findings from a cross-cultural usability test conducted with Dutch and Indonesian housewives. The study aims to find out the differences in product use and user needs between user groups. The cross-cultural usability test of a European food processor is carried out by means of observation and interview. The results show that Dutch and Indonesians use and perceive the product in a different way. The findings suggest that cross-cultural usability testing may be very useful when designing products for users from different cultures.Original publication:
