Title:

Localizing for the Korean Market: ‘Actually Being There’ with a Multi-Methods Approach

Author:

Braun, B-M., Roese, K. & P. Roessger

Abstract:

Based on experiences made during the localization of a driver information system (DIS) for the South Korean market, this paper shows that in-depth understanding of a target culture’s users and their requirements can only be gained through analysis on the spot and a comprehensive localization framework. This study certainly proves how ‘actually being there’ with various methods reinforcing and supplementing each other supports successful cross-cultural product development.
