We propose a way of designing and implementing user interfaces for international systems by combining an interface design method, LUCID, with a component based software architecture. The LUCID method can distinguish between interface design factors that influence the usability across all user groups and those design factors which are sensitive to cultural variables so that localized and globalised versions can be developed.Original publication:
